5 steps to overcome Self-doubt and Build confidence
- Identify and Challenge negative thoughts
Eg. Instead of thinking, “I am not good enough” reframe it to “I am learning and improving everyday and I don’t have to be perfect”
- Focus on small wins that helps to experience success, reinforce a sense of capability and progress
Eg. If you want to wake up early, wake up half an hour before your usual time and if you did it celebrate it and acknowledge yourself
- Develop a positive support system and surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you
Eg. Share your goals and concerns with your mentor / coach who can provide reassurance and constructive feedback
- Practice Self-Compassion
Treat yourself with same kindness and accept that mistakes are a part of growth and not a reflection of your worth
Eg. Instead of saying “I Failed again” say “This is a learning opportunity and I will improve next time”.
- Take Action despite fear
Confidence doesn’t come from waiting for the perfect moment it comes from taking action even when you feel unsure
Eg. If you are nervous about networking, start by attending one event and speaking to just one person
Celebrate your efforts even if it feels small.
